Year 6 Science

Year 6 Science

This week Year 6 have been learning all about the circulatory system. They have been investigating what our blood consists of and the use of blood smoothies has certainly gone down a treat!

Year 6 students were able to identify descriptions of red and white blood cells, plasma and platelets. In our smoothie recipe, we used the following ingredients to represent each of these components:

·       Strawberries for red blood cells;

·       Marshmallows for white blood cells;

·       Sprinkles for platelets and

·       Pineapple juice for plasma.

Please do ask them all about their learning over the coming week – we have some very exciting experiments planned for our young scientists!
