At The West Park Academy we believe children should have a range of healthy options available to them. Our lunchtime staff pride themselves in offering the best quality food and are working very closely with our Academy Council to design a menu that is not only healthy and delicious, but created by the children of The West Park Academy.
A message from the academy kitchen
All our menus are carefully planned and designed to provide pupils with a healthy balanced diet. Currently, we are on a classic menu which means that the children are provided with a cooked main course and a desert. Our meals are cooked on the school premises daily, using locally sourced quality produce to ensure fresh and tasty food. As well as our hot school dinner option, we also offer jacket potatos with a choice of fillings or a roll with a choice of fillings. There will also be a choice of desert or a piece of fruit. We use a range of organic items on the menu which include potato, pasta, milk, yogurt and eggs.
We have been accredited the Food for Life Gold Award, which is a programme designed to reconnect people with where their food comes from, teaching them how it’s grown and cooked, the importance of well sourced ingredients and learning how to make healthy and tasty meals. Healthy eating habits should start at a young age and last a lifetime.
If our menus do not suit your child’s diet due to any food allergies or intolerances, religious or ethical beliefs please let us know so we can make alternative arrangements.
If you need any further information, please contact the academy office staff or alternatively see Mr Challard in the kitchen.
